USAG Coach

 

Shields Gymnastics is seeking a motivated gymnastics coach who is dependable, professional, and passionate about the sport for our new and fast-growing women's competitive team program. This is a part-time position.

 

Job Description:

 

  • The primary role is to prepare athletes for competition and represent Shields Gymnastics at competitions.

  • Focus on compulsory and lower level optional levels, with a strong emphasis on technique and execution.

  • Communicate with peers, athletes, and parents in a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic manner.

  • Lead individuals in a team setting, support the team culture, and create an atmosphere for the athlete's success.

  • Model behaviors and perform the tasks assigned with enthusiasm that reflects and supports the company's values.

  • Develop students across all learning domains including physical, mental, emotional, and social skills.

  • Commitment to the continued growth of the team program, as well as their own professional development.

  • All team coaches are also expected to contribute to our recreational program as needed to help build and promote our team program.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • 1-4 years' experience coaching competitive gymnastics (USAG Level 4+).

  • Offsite work and out of town travel will be required for competitions.

  • Must be motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and dependable.

  • Working knowledge of USAG rules and regulations.

  • Must possess strong spotting skills.

  • Knowledge in shaping is desired but not required.

  • Must possess or be willing to obtain requisite USAG membership and certifications.

  • First aid/ CPR certifications (a plus).

  • Ability to pass an employment background check.

 

Wages will be commensurate with experience.

Currently 15 hrs/week expanding to 16.5 hrs/week in the summer; 18 hrs/week in the fall.
