Pre-School Classes

Designed to develop strength, flexibility, body awareness, self control and confidence. Students work on all Olympic apparatus and learn a wide range of other physical education skills by way of hoops, balls, jump ropes, parachute play, obstacle courses and trampoline.

Boys and Girls Recreational Classes
Designed to develop strength and flexibility, as well as basic athletic
coordination for all sports. Classes are divided by age and ability and
are taught progressively. Students develop skills at their own pace in a
rewarding, non-competitive environment.

Cheerleading/Tumbling Classes
Perfect for those student wishing to get an early start on their cheerleading
training by learning beginning through advanced tumbling and jump technique.
Instructors offer the skills needed to make the squad. Back handsprings
are our specialty.

Girls Gymnastics Teams
Shields Gymnastics offers an extensive gymnastics program from training squad through the competitive JOGA team. This is a year-round training program.

- follows National High School rules
- competitions are held on weekends during the school year.
- season runs from January through May.

Adult Gymnastics
Shields Gymnastics has offered Adult Gym every Tuesday night snce
1981. Classes are from 8pm til 9pm, but get there a half hour early
to
warm up. The class is co-ed with a wide range of ages and skill levels,
so if you are "rusty" or a beginner, you'll still fit right
in! The class works primarily on floor exercises (tumbling) but also
includes
a wide range of equipment and other physical challenges.
The class is $10 per session walk-in fee - no contract to commit to!
All participants must sign a waiver, provide proof of insurance,
and pay an annual registration fee of $35.
Open Gym
A great opportunity for kids to practice what they've learned in class. A supervised
program, not recommended for beginners. Students must be at least 7 years
old, but do not have to be a member to participate. All participants must
sign a waiver. Call for details.
Private Lessons
Children will work one on one with a staff member. Schedule at your convenience.
